Frequently Asked Questions
Most supermarket groundnut oil is refined — processed with heat and chemicals, then bleached and deodorised. Ours is cold-pressed from hand-picked peanuts using the traditional method, so it keeps the rich, nutty aroma and natural golden colour of the peanut. Open the bottle and you'll smell the difference.
Yes. Groundnut oil is a traditional all-rounder in Indian kitchens — use it for deep frying, tempering, sautéing and everyday sabzis and dals. Its nutty flavour works especially well in South Indian and Gujarati cooking.
Refined oils are extracted at high heat with chemical solvents, which squeezes the maximum oil out of every kilo of seed and then strips out the colour, aroma and nutrients. We slow-press the seeds without heat or chemicals, which gives less oil per kilo — but what you get is the whole, unrefined oil, with nothing removed and nothing added.
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and use a dry spoon or pour directly. It is best used within 6 months of opening. As there are no preservatives, you may notice a little natural settling at the bottom — that is normal for unrefined oil.
It comes in 500 ML, 1 L and 5 L. The 5 L pack gives you the best value, at about ₹350 per litre. Trying it for the first time? Start with the 500 ML — most families move up to a bigger pack once they've tasted the difference.
